An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, self-motivated Service Manager as a result of business expansion due to increased contract wins in the electricity industry.
The role predominately involves leading and managing a growing team of Field Engineers, ensuring efficient delivery of service and customer satisfaction. A proven team leader, you will have a strong technical background and sound commercial acumen with the ability to build and maintain solid customer relationships.
You will be an agent of change with the ability to identify, develop and implement service strategies to improve performance and meet customer requirements.
Main Responsibilities:
Existing Business:
- Manage growing team to deliver existing service contracts and bespoke jobs for customers
- Develop strategic and tactical goals in line with growth of the department
- Oversee the field service schedule identifying and resolving conflicts in a satisfactory manner
- Oversee financial aspects of field service activity including funnel, backlog, invoicing and forecasting
- Manage existing service contracts ensuring KPIs and customer satisfaction are maintained
- Monitor service performance to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures
- Hire, train and mentor service staff to develop the team and promote personal development
New Business:
- Identify and develop new business and revenue streams within service department
- Provide quotations both internally and externally to customers for services, including negotiation and closing
- Liaise with internal customers on inter-departmental projects providing service support where required
- Act as primary contact for new service tenders
Experience & Skills Required:
- At least 2 years’ man management experience
- Minimum of HNC in relevant engineering background
- Team leader with a can-do attitude
- An ability to identify improvement and drive change
- Problem solver from a Technical background with Commercial acumen
- Customer facing
- Current full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Power industry experience
- Formal Health and Safety qualification/background (NEBOSH/IOSH)
- Data handling, planning, analysis and reporting skills
